THE OBAMA ELEMENT ON INSURANCE

It appears that the Obama Administration is under tremendous pressure to help secure health coverage for the more than 47,000,000
uninsured Americans. Several states in the Union are currently investigating some kind of government-sponsored insurance coverage with Massachusetts leading the way.

The question that a lot of people pose is; Where can the funding be found in a single-payer system? The Obama health care reform plan requires guaranteed issue health insurance and the creation of a National Health Insurance Exchange to oversee such purchase and delivery from a single or centralized source. While this certainly does sound like the 'change' promised, but such a 'change' will be nearly impossible to fund. To back up this, consider the following:

The Summary of the 2008 Annual Reports produced by Social Security and Medicare Boards of Trustees, indicates that Medicare's hospital insurance trust fund will be depleted in 2019.

Considering the economic crisis that is going on all around us today, balancing the Medicare issue while expanding government's role in the under 65 market could be a very difficult process.

What we're starting to see however, is employers who have been faced with cuts while trying to maintain their businesses, is to opt-out of the full-coverage for employees and dependents. They are either reducing their participation or cutting it altogether.

This problem can be remedied in most cases with stand-alone medical, dental and vision products that are purchased on an individual basis.

Health Insurance - Shopping Smarter!

Picking a health insurer seems like a daunting task...do you call that toll-free number shown on the television and print ads, or... is it possible to get better coverage and rates elsewhere? MAYBE BOTH!

As Tim O'Meara of Madison National Life Insurance Company was recently quoted in the Best Insurance Newsletter -

"Clients are willing to shop a little harder and move away from the name carriers if they can find a financially sound carrier with good rates."

In choosing carriers and products that I represent, we stack up their products, customer service, rates and the financial snapshot of each company. The companies and products in our portfolio are not necessarily from the more familiar names that you're aquainted with, BUT, having carefully chosen based on the selection criteria, I think that I have some of the BEST products backed by some of the BEST companies out there on the health insurance playing field.

One such parent company is IHC or Independence Holding Company. Also known as IAC or Insurers Administrative Corporation, a full line of health-care products ranging from Group Health, Individual Major Medical, Defined Benefits, Dental, Vision and more.

Dennis Bukantis Marketing offers many of their products and they can be found on the Home Page of this website. By clicking on their link you can take a look at the wide array of very good products and benefits offered in many markets.

If you would also like to read their latest audited Financial Report, please request it through the Contact Us page on this website. I would be pleased to email it to you promptly.

It was interesting that I have spoken with several people recently that all of a sudden found themselves without a job and without their company sponsored Group Health Insurance. I expect to personally see and hear more of this story. While there is a certain buzz about COBRA being the benefactor of the so-called Stimulus package, it really hasn't not been officially determined as to when.

With Insurance reform at both national and state levels, much excitement among us not so rich and famous started to grow. But as Wayne Nelson, President of Communicating For America, an association that represents small business and agriculture believes many state governments are finding that meaningful health care reform is more difficult and costly than first anticipated..and not to mention the political implications.

Economist and Writer John Pugsley said something like this - "Government doesn't work...you work...I work...FedEx works...Safeway works...but government doesn't."

Thanks for taking the time to read this Insurance News..they'll be more. Your comments are always welcome!
