See, several years ago I decided that almost all mass marketing techniques would no longer work..I was tossing money into a black hole for massive advertising campaigns including print media of all kinds, fax blasts, email blasts...all with the same results - lousy!
One of the most important things that I learned was that any of these advertising campaigns, even though they were costly and looked very impressive, they failed to do the most important thing - that was, to get the prospect or customer to read them. For example, my slick, direct mail piece was only one of a handful that he or she may have received in their stack of mail that day and usually never got read and worse- got tossed before it was even opened! The popular statistics that ad agencies and direct mail producers confidently brag on of 2% of a given piece will be converted into new business is ok, but in reality it's more like 1/2 of 1% conversion rate. If marketers were actually getting 2%, then what happened to the other 98%? Where'd they go? What happen?
A number of years ago while recovering from a major health issue, I decided to work constructively on what has turned out to be my proprietary marketing tools, FireStorm Marketing. I knew that if I was to recover enough to go back to work that I would do it quite a bit differently this time around. Why did I pick the name of FireStorm Marketing? I chose this name because I drew on the basic principles of starting an actual fire. Remember when you were a Boy Scout or even Girl Scout? You learned the basics of making a fire out in the woods to stay warm and cook your meals. It was a matter of survival if you will..and these same principles I found, were very instructive to marketers! They're so important, as if your life depended on it!
