Going Bare..or without medical insurance

For any number of reasons, you may find yourself without major medical coverage. It might be a loss of employee benefits, or an outright loss of a job. While major medical insurance is getting more expensive by the year, the real cost of not having it in the event of a catastrophic health challenge, could be devasting.
Let me explain a very personal situation.
My wife, Claudia, wasn't expecting to be involved in an accident at home a couple of years ago, and in the process, shattered her right shoulder and her left leg and ankle. This was an unplanned accident.
By the time she got done with the ambulance rides, hosptitals, surgeries, rehabilitation centers, physical therapy, home nurse visits, additional doctor's office visits, all kinds of Durable Medical supplies...and things I can't remember...the bills exceeded $600,000.00. That's not $600, or $6000 bucks...but Six Hundred Thousand.
So...it turns out that 'going bare' that is, without any coverage can be VERY expensive. In Claudia's case, I'm glad that we were properly covered or I'd still be paying on that one.
I like to think that most of us in our situations, can afford to handle the sneezes and sniffles on our own, but sometimes, even those require some kind of medical intervention. What really should be a concern of yours are the BIG BILLS.
Today's insurance products that I offer are unique in that you can have pretty much what you want, from plans that cover everything or just the catastrophic events....the BIG BILLS.
In selecting your benefits, if you don't use Prescription drugs, you might consider not having this as a benefit on your plan. There is a lot of flexibility in choosing Doctor Office Co-pays too.
Flexibility in choosing co-insurances is a new thing too. Regardless of what you decide on, I'm very confident that I can assist you in custom designing just the right product for you.

Lately, I'm getting a fair number of inquiries from people who all of a sudden have found themselves without a job and in some cases, without major medical insurance.
If you're one that has unfortunately been laid off or furloughed with or without benefits, I may be able to assist you in finding suitable coverage, either on a temporary basis or permanent.
If you were on a employer Group Plan, then chances are you were or will be offered to retain some of your insurance benefits through a program called, COBRA.
COBRA is NOT a long-term program and often times benefits are never the same as your Group Plan and the cost is usually much higher than plans that you can obtain on an individual basis.
